1914: foundation

the club founded in 1914 foot-ball club entella. took name river entella, flowing between chiavari , lavagna.


2001: bankrupt

foot-ball club entella went bankrupt in 2001.


2002: refoundation

it refounded in 2002 unione sportiva valle sturla entella. in summer of 2010 renamed virtus entella, after had been admitted in lega pro seconda divisione. in summer 2012, virtus entella promoted, first time, lega pro prima divisione repechange fill vacancies created. completed 2012–13 season in style, taking part promotion playoff, defeated lecce in semi-finals.


in 2013–14 season, virtus entella took part girone of italian third tier, , topped league of season. on 4 may 2014, 2–1 away win @ cremonese in final day of season ensured virtus entella league championship title , spot in 2014–15 serie b, in club s first appearance ever in italian second tier.


2014: serie b debut

the team promoted in serie b first time in history in 2014. in 2014–15 got relegated once again, in relegation playoffs lost modena. after relegation of calcio catania lega pro sporting fraud readmitted serie b.
