upon launch of cjot, became new flagship station of ez rock brand in canada, 5 months after sign-off of toronto s cjez-fm (now adult hits-formatted chbm-fm, boom 97.3 ). however, on june 30, 2011, @ 3 p.m., station flipped classic hits format, branded boom 99.7. last song on ez rock forget cee-lo green, while boom s first song start me rolling stones. station s playlist focuses on songs 1964-1999.
in march 2013, part of bell canada s proposed acquisition of astral media, corus reached tentative deal acquire astral s 50% stake in teletoon networks, along several radio stations (including cjot), $400.6 million.
on january 28, 2014, crtc approved corus s acquisition of cjot-fm , sister station ckqb-fm. acquisition closed on january 31, 2014.
