dave acker calls them big guns in brandy-distilling business , believes large curved surfaces allow greater condensation of alcohol vapours. creates purer distillate, characteristic of smoothness of oude molen brandies.


big bertha holds 5,000 litres , recalls massive gun used germans shell paris during world war i. long tom , 19,000 litre capacity commemorates cannon in action during siege of mafeking in south african war.
