day 1, evening session

paul moor once again opened team europe, time against chris barnes team usa. moor , barnes never matched in 2006 tournament, , first time had gone head-to-head since barnes beat moor in final of 2006 world tenpin masters. moor avenged defeat comfortable 232-201 victory, set team europe on way. barnes missed 2 single pins during match.

match 2 saw mika koivuniemi against team usa captain tim mack. koivuniemi started first 7 strikes, , won 267-240, put team europe 2-0 ahead.

team europe debutant osku palermaa able stretch lead further, 237-206 win on weber cup veteran bill hoffman.

match 4 brought tore torgersen , team usa s debutant doug kent. match went right wire, kent edging 264-258 gain team usa s first point.

tommy jones able narrow gap further, rolling 2nd ever perfect game in weber cup history. jones opponent, tomas leandersson managed 204, able finish 4 strikes in row.

the final match of session team baker game. historically has been strong game team usa, , able level tournament @ 3-3, winning match 234-215, snatching @ end tommy jones rolling 3 strikes in 10th frame, taking total 16 strikes possible 16.



day 2, afternoon session

the afternoon session made of 3 doubles, 2 singles , 1 baker team match finish. first team europe paul moor , tore torgersen, against bill hoffman , doug kent. european pair ran out winners 236-215. chris barnes brought overall score level @ 4-4 239-227 singles victory on osku palermaa. barnes needed spare win in 10th, , despite leaving tricky 4 pins after first ball, able convert spare win.

team usa captain tim mack, tommy jones, put americans in front overall first time, 226-207 win on team europe s captain tomas leandersson , mika koivuniemi. lead extended doug kent victorious on mika koivuniemi in next match, in close-fought singles, kent won 212-208.

the final doubles game of day saw current ebt number 1 , 2, osku palermaa , paul moor against tommy jones , chris barnes. jones , barnes put 1 of highest doubles scores ever recorded in weber cup, , won comfortably 279-231. final match of afternoon baker team game, won team europe 214-210. team usa anchorman tommy jones needed 2 strikes , @ least 3 pins 3rd ball win, after first strike, denied second.



day 2, evening session

the evening session took same format evening session on first day, 5 singles matches , baker team game. first onto lanes mika koivuniemi , bill hoffman. koivuniemi bowled 11 strikes out of possible 12, hoffman not reply, losing 279-207. there similar scenario in second match, opposite result chris barnes rolled 11 strikes against paul moor win 290-203.

the 2 team captains matched next, tomas leandersson edging past tim mack 223-220. needing 8 pins first ball in 10th frame win, leandersson duly obliged, left split, unable convert. tore torgersen avenged first day defeat doug kent, winning 234-208. kent left needing 2 strikes in 10th frame win, rolled 7 first ball, handing match torgersen.

another close fought singles followed, tommy jones victorious on osku palermaa 212-204. in 7th frame both bowlers left difficult 2-8-10 split, palermaa able convert two-handed backup delivery. needing 2 strikes , 9 pins in 10th frame win, palermaa managed first strike, failing second, despite throwing shot. onto final match of day, , team europe able win session, bringing overall score level @ 9-9, hard fought 212-188 win in baker team game.
