in combination of shock , fear due confused knowledge of disease, david struggles come terms rich having aids. avoids situation until sandy comes forward , reveals david old college friend of hers died of aids several years earlier. david, burt , rest rally around rich, @ first wanted little no attention, opened up, , try make of time had him. episode concludes, timeline advances 3 months, sandy , david speaking @ high school s assembly hiv , aids. david touches upon experiences rich, dispels common myths associated disease , how prevent it, , breaks news of rich s passing, had occurred night before.
