aftermath

thomas mcmahon, had been arrested 2 hours before bomb detonated @ garda checkpoint between longford , granard on suspicion of driving stolen vehicle, tried assassinations in ireland, , convicted on 23 november 1979 forensic evidence supplied james o donovan showed flecks of paint boat , traces of nitroglycerine on clothes. released in 1998 under terms of friday agreement.
