the world chess boxing organisation e.v. (wcbo) leading umbrella organisation international amateur chessboxing. based in berlin, germany , legally recognized non-profit organisation german government. iepe rubingh founded world chess boxing organisation directly after first chessboxing fight in 2003. goal was, , still is, establish wcbo worldwide organisation sport of chessboxing. wcbo’s aim collect , link of active chessboxing clubs worldwide under 1 roof. legally recognised registered association berlin’s district court in 2014. wcbo official organizer of chessboxing world championships until recognised chess boxing global, in accordance statute, exclusive marketing agent professional chessboxing fights, in 2013. since then, wcbo has been focusing on organisation of mass sport chessboxing , further development. chessboxing inventor , wcbo founder iepe rubingh, current chairman. first honorary member became comic book artist enki bilal, comic provided inspiration behind invention of chessboxing.

the world chessboxing association (wcba) legally recognized umbrella organisation chessboxing. founded in 2013 , based in london, england. english heavyweight chessboxing champion, tim woolgar, current president. world chessboxing association originated london chessboxing club after having separated world chess boxing organisation (wcbo). founded tim woolgar in 2013 in order accelerate development of chessboxing. wbco champions managed , recognised wcba.

london chessboxing brand under sport of chessboxing has been promoted since 2008 in london, united kingdom. although sport has been practiced in london since 1978, home of chessboxing in london today islington boxing club london chessboxing host regular training sessions.

the first ever chessboxing event hosted in uk under brand @ bethnal green working men s club in hackney tim woolgar on 15th of august 2008. other notable venues include chelsea old town hall, grange hotel in st pauls , royal albert hall. presently events hosted @ scala, king’s cross, london , york hall, london.

chess boxing global (cbg) marketing agency responsible professional chessboxing fights , commercial activities affiliated sport of chessboxing. officially marketing agency professional chessboxing recognised wcbo , takes on assignments such organizing world championships , marketing profiles of professional athletes. shortly after being founded iepe rubingh in berlin in 2013, cbg gained attention enki bilal auctioning off 1 of paintings in paris on february 23, 2013. auctioned painting, shows artistic depiction of chessboxer, able generate 174,000 euro cbg. first world championship under auspices of chess boxing global took place in moskow, russia in 2013 before 1200 spectators. professional athletes on world fight each other under slogan, “a quest smartest , toughest man on planet.”
