dams associated toyota drivers program (tdp) 2006 2009, , ran drivers in gp2 series. in 2006, franck perera , kazuki nakajima in 2007, finished 5th in gp2 championship , raced in last formula 1 grand prix of season williams. following won full-time race seat team 2008 , retained 2009 season. in 2008, tdp driver kamui kobayashi replaced nakajima @ dams gp2 , became toyota racing test driver. kobayashi stayed on in 2009, , partnered jérôme d ambrosio these 2 years. neither driver able put consistent run of form in main gp2 series championships, kobayashi did win 2008–09 asian championship team.

d ambrosio remained team 2010, , paired ho-pin tung, replaced sauber-bound kobayashi. part of agreement renault formula 1 team, both nominated renault f1 test drivers, , dams gp2 cars liveried in identical yellow-and-black scheme renault r30 chassis. d ambrosio won sprint race @ monaco, form thereafter disappointing , rested 1 of rounds in favour of romain grosjean, driver renault f1 links. grosjean later got opportunity move team full-time when tung, yet score point after 12 races, sustained broken vertebra in racing accident. d ambrosio, grosjean , tung finished 12th, 14th , 28th respectively in drivers championship, whilst dams finished sixth position in teams championship. grosjean remained team 2011, norwegian rookie pål varhaug replacing d ambrosio, graduated f1 virgin racing team. dams retained links renault, although these diluted f1 team s new sponsorship deal lotus cars, backed rival art team in gp2. grosjean dominated year, winning both asian , main series championships. dams won asian teams title, varhaug s failure score points in main series saw team beaten championship addax.


for 2012 season, grosjean moved lotus (formerly renault) formula 1 team, , varhaug switched auto gp world series; replaced series veteran davide valsecchi , reigning british f3 champion felipe nasr. valsecchi began season strongly, winning unprecedented 3 races in row in bahrain, , later prevailed on closest rival luiz razia win championship, whilst nasr finished on podium 4 times finish tenth in championship, second-highest rookie behind james calado. between them, valsecchi , nasr scored enough points win dams s first gp2 teams championship, 6 points ahead of art, competing under lotus gp banner.


the team wrapped both 2014 drivers , teams championships, jolyon palmer winning former. dams went 2015 season red bull junior team driver pierre gasly , 2014 gp3 champion alex lynn driver lineup. team struggled in bahrain feature race gasly being involved in fourth lap collision arthur pic, raffaele marciello , norman nato , lynn falling down order after driving of alexander rossi , damaging front wing. both drivers finished outside points in following day s sprint race. team had improved weekend in barcelona, lynn taking first gp2 victory in sprint race , gasly joining him on podium in third.
