the 3 terms named: michaelmas, lent , summer.


at end of lent term, founder s day observed, when given foundation of college @ souls church, langham place, location of carol service @ end of michaelmas term. final day of each term features entertainments when pupils perform talents before assembled college in hall.


annual gathering

the summer term closes annual gathering, when pupils continue tradition, begun in 1854, of lining school corridor dressed in white, accompanied staff in academic dress. visitor , bishop of london, or representative, introduced form tutors , principal every girl in college class 1 upwards , selected representatives of classes 2 , 3. event followed principal s report governors, parents, staff , pupils on academic year , address visitor.


trips

trips abroad or london attractions, museums , theatres organised regularly departments. annual trip during summer term five-day visit northumberland, arranged classics department whole of class 3; girls visit hadrian s wall, roman forts, durham , farne isles.
