the hector guimard-designed édicule

the station s entrance, designed hector guimard (1867–1942), 1 of 2 original glass-covered guimard entrances, called édicules (kiosks), left in paris (the other located @ porte dauphine, while third, replica édicule exists @ châtelet). though guimard original, édicule @ abbesses located @ hôtel de ville transferred current location in 1974. entrance technically anachronistic, since line 12 of paris metro built competing firm, nord-sud company, did not hire guimard engaged other architects design stations , station entrances.
