the city has 2 professional sports teams. local ice hockey team ciarko pbs bank sts sanok, has won polska hokej liga league title twice, in 2011/2012 , 2013/2014 season. won polish cup twice, in 2010-11 , 2011-12. local football club stal sanok, competed in polish third league (4th level), in 2013/14 season. team inactive due financial reasons.


there many sports facilities in sanok , main complex of facilities civic sports , recreation centre, situated near san river. centre includes: artificial speed skating oval tor błonie, complex of indoor , outdoor swimming pools, hotel, tourist hostel, camp-site, sports stadium technical facilities, etc. there artificial ice rink in centre of town, designed ice hockey , managed ice hockey club kh sanok. there 2 more sports facilities @ stróżowska street: stadium of sports club stal sanok, , gymnasium of technical schools complex.


in winter, ski-lift operates in nearby karlików.
