launched on september, 2003, construction of stadium lasted 7 years , 3 months. inauguration took place on january 5, 2011 friendlies involving 2 moroccan teams ; kawkab marrakech , wydad casablanca facing 2 french teams ; olympique lyonnais , paris saint germain.


criticism

after more 7 years in construction, marrakchis people , contributors unveiled first stadium in world both rectangular , host running track. criticism branched these constructive decisions distance running track bleachers far. considered fault builders, space contrast attributed lack of potential spectators in stadium, avoid stadium due poor vision.


means of access

the stadium located 11 kilometres (7 mi) north of marrakesh. served international airport marrakesh - menara @ fourteen kilometers, , railway station of city. access stadium provided sixteen doors , grand entrance.
