but choked sedges, works weedy way;

along thy glades solitary guest,

the hollow-sounding bittern guards nest;

amidst thy desert walks lapwing flies,

and tires echoes unvaried cries.

sunk thy bowers in shapeless ruin all,

and long grass o ertops mould ring wall
