the centre science in society(c-sis) established in 1991 under ugc viii plan development assistance partial financial assistance cochin refineries limited. instituted endowment (bpcl chair/professor) in university. centre conducts various programmes science view popularize science , technology among children. government of kerala has approved c-sis training centre high school science teachers under “sastraposini” programme.

the indian space research organization (isro) has put ‘space pavilion’ in science , technology park of c-sis. models of space rockets, chandrayaan , video shows of rocket launching sriharikotta shown visitors. u.s based (ieee) institute of electrical , electronics engineers has come forward establish ‘e –scientia’ (electronics scientific exhibit) in science , technology park of c-sis. trajectory monitoring , error correction in process of satellite launching shown group of students visit c-sis.

sophisticated test , instrumentation centre (stic)

stic joint venture of kerala state council science, technology , environment (kscste) , cochin university of science , technology (cusat).

this institution has been established following objectives:

1. provide advanced instrument facilities analysis testing, measurement , calibration users industries, academic institutions , r&d establishments.

2. undertake research , development in field of instrumentation , related areas relevant industries in state.

3. undertake training , other services personnel industries, r&d establishments , academic institutions.

stic has established highly sophisticated test, measurement, calibration, analysis , research laboratories in areas of instrumentation, quality evaluation / calibration, chemical analysis , testing. number of industries, academic institutions , research establishments make use of services of stic. in addition regular calibration, testing , analysis activities, scientific personnel in stic involved in research , development in instrumentation , allied areas.

b. nabl accredited calibration laboratories (electro-technical, thermal, , mechanical)

c. testing laboratories (electrical, plastics, mechanical)

d. sophisticated analytical instrument facility (saif), supported department of science , technology, government of india.

national centre aquatic animal health (ncaah)

ncaah (formerly centre fish disease diagnosis , management) establishment on 18 january 2000 cater requirement of aqua farmers in protecting health of rearing stock through introduction of recent advancements in marine biotechnology, , situates in lakeside campus of university. motto of centre relentless effort protection of health of aquatic animals , environment”.

ncaah seventh regional resource centre (rrc) in aquatic animal health of network of aquaculture centres in asia pacific (naca) has headquarters @ bangkok, thailand. rrc, centre mandated provide scientific , technical training of personnel south asian region, diagnostic testing facilities countries members of regional aquatic animal health initiative, organize scientific meetings, training courses , workshops naca, dissemination of information , other such initiatives in aquatic animal health.

the centre equipped research labs such bacteriology, virology, animal tissue culture, immunology, genomics, proteomics , fermentation. extensive bioassay system ras feature.

centre study of social exclusion & inclusive policy (csseip)

the ugc centre has, since starting of formal work in february 2009, engaged in building required intellectual infrastructure furthering research in broad agenda of social exclusion. following general approach social exclusion research, centre examines social exclusion both ‘a process , status’. developing on scheme of examining social exclusion, centre advocates in research inclusive policy ‘process-status-process’ approach i.e. identify , examine process led social exclusion, evaluate present status/magnitude of social exclusion , chart out processes achieve desired level of social inclusion.

inter university centre ipr studies (iuciprs)

inter university centre ipr studies (iuciprs) autonomous institution established government of kerala in cochin university of science , technology. 1 of inter university centres conceived , implemented department of higher education, government of kerala. centre ipr studies established in school of legal studies of cochin university of science & technology in 2003 converted iuciprs encourage multidisciplinary teaching , research in area of intellectual property rights.

the main objective of iuciprs evolve research hub , resource centre of international repute act think tank in area of ipr , related subjects. intended facilitate interaction between researchers different universities , research institutions in india , abroad.

iuciprs governed governing council consisting of twelve members minister education , culture, government of kerala chairman , vice-chancellor of cusat vice-chairman.

international centre economic policy , analysis (icepa)

the international centre economic policy , analysis (icepa) offshoot of international collaboration department of applied economics had in 1990s , 2000s. original request development of centre came international collaborators sustain system continuous linkage. icepa established in year 2004 april in department of applied economics, cusat analysing economic issues , giving guidelines authorities taking policy decisions. currently, centre carrying out research projects national , international agencies , engaging in development dialogues national , international ngo’s industries , governments.
