nguyễn trãi s death resulted scandal involving young king, lê thái tông, , wife or concubine of nguyễn trãi, named nguyễn thị lộ. in 1442, young king began affair nguyễn thị lộ. affair continued when king visited old scholar @ home. not long after king left, became ill , died. nobles @ court blamed nguyễn trãi , nguyễn thị lộ young king s death, accused them of regicide , had both, along entire extended families, exterminated.


twenty years later, king lê thánh tông officially pardoned nguyễn trãi, saying wholly innocent in death of king lê thái tông.
