desiderius erasmus received codex dominican monks @ basel, , chiefly used basis gospels portion of first edition of novum testamentum (1516), press corrections hand, , barbarously scored red chalk suit page format. robert estienne did not directly consult manuscript in editio regia (1550), since edition based on erasmian text, 2 s readings became basis textus receptus.
martin crusius used manuscript in 1577. manuscript examined bengel (codex β), wettstein, burgon, hoskier, gregory. according bruce m. metzger 1 of inferior manuscripts used erasmus. wettstein gave number 2 on list. siglum still in use.
