23–25 august, unusual low formed late in season bringing flooding along coast. 390 millimetres (15 in) of rainfall recorded @ nowra in 48 hours.
28 april–1 may – on 28 april bureau of meteorology reported east coast low forming off coast of fraser island. record breaking rainfall , strong winds recorded in southeast queensland , northern new south wales causing 5 fatalities in caboolture area.
20–23 april @ least 4 people died in event described worst since 2007. severe flooding affected areas of maitland , dungog, inundating homes , isolating entire communities. power , water access restricted tens of thousands of homes across wider hunter region.




14 october 2014, new south wales saw wind gusts 161 km/h (100 mph). bureau of meteorology spokesman described rainfall observed @ marrickville, canterbury, , sydney airport d expect see in 1 location once every 20 years , rainfall totals in strathfield @ 94 mm (4 in) falling in 3 hours described 1 in 100 years recurrence. sydney airport saw disruption flights airport closed time due high winds. in port botany strong winds caused hapag-lloyd cargo ship kiel express break free. waves off sydney on 8 m (26 ft) reported. 30,000 homes in region left without power.
