during saban s tenure head coach of crimson tide, alabama has played home games on-campus @ bryant–denny stadium. prior 2006 season, north endzone expansion brought total seating capacity of bryant–denny 92,138, seventh largest stadium in college football. after saban became head coach, in february 2009, university of alabama system board of trustees unanimously approved proposal expand south endzone upper deck seated approximately 9,000 spectators , added 36 luxury boxes. expansion budgeted @ $80.6 million , davis architects of birmingham, alabama served architect of record project. expansion completed prior start of 2010 season on august 20 , increased bryant–denny s capacity 101,821, fifth largest in college football.
