the 2015–16 season saw yeovil compete in fourth tier of english football following successive relegations championship , league one. season started poorly club suffering series of injury crises , winning 2 league matches end of november. third consecutive relegation real possibility club sacked manager paul sturrock, , replaced him first-team coach darren way. after appointment, yeovil s form improved including run of 4 consecutive 1–0 wins in march , 8 clean-sheets in 9 matches , safety confirmed 4 matches spare yeovil finished season in 19th place. yeovil reached third round of fa cup, third consecutive season first time in club s history, losing in penalty shootout carlisle united. club reached southern area semi-finals of football league trophy, losing oxford united.


the end of season saw way release 8 players, including jack compton, jordan gibbons, simon gillett, shaun jeffers, marc laird, leroy lita, jakub sokolík , chris weale, while club terminated contracts of mark beck , wes fogden year early. 6 players offered new contracts darren way, defender nathan smith , ivorian striker françois zoko agreed new one-year contracts, while goalkeeper artur krysiak, ryan dickson , omar sowunmi agreed two-year contract extensions. defensive midfielder ben tozer verbally agreed new contract subject him passing medical after recovering operation on knee. later rejected offer sign newport county.
