the wing won sac missile combat competition , blanchard trophy in 1973 , 1984 , in 2010 , 2011 best missile wing in air force global strike command. awarded omaha trophy outstanding wing in sac in 1983 , in 2007 best missile wing in united states strategic command. unit won col lowell f. mcadoo trophy best missile wing operations in sac , lee r. williams trophy outstanding missile wing in 1988. in 1989, wing s maintenance complex won chadwell trophy best missile maintenance unit in sac , repeated in 1992 best in air combat command. individual squadrons of wing have won other command competition awards, including 2 additional awards of blanchard trophy.
